The apple strudel according to Amelì

A great classic of Trentino pastry making revisited with a pinch of... Amelì!

Strudel is the most well-known and appreciated dessert in Trentino. There are dozens of different recipes and variants. We want to reveal our secret to you: follow our recipe step by step and… you will feel the smell of apples!

Ingredients

  • 250 g flour
  • Salt to taste
  • 45 g Amelì apple granules
  • 50 ml Trento Doc
  • 2 eggs
  • 100 gr butter
  • 4 apples with lemon juice
  • 50 gr sugar

How to make it

Combine the flour with salt, eggs, butter and Amelì apple granules in a bowl.
Mix everything with your hands and finally add the Trento Doc
Cover with the film and let it rest outside the fridge for about 30 minutes.

Meanwhile, cut the apples into small pieces with the peel, put them in a bowl and add lemon juice and sugar.

On a flatbed spread the dough forming a regular rectangle, spread the apple filling on it, roll the strudel from the longest part, sealing the edges well.
Brush the strudel with a little beaten egg and bake at 170° for 30 minutes.
